Connecting to Our Why
When I start to feel lost or question why I am doing the things I do, I journal. It helps to connect to my WHY and it grounds me. Then it helps me confidently take steps in the direction that feels most true for me.
I wanted to share some of the journal prompts I use in these moments of doubt, since it is a common part of the creative process.
Journal (Or Reflection) Prompts to Connect to Your Why:
Answer one, or a couple that you feel most drawn to:
What did you love to do when you were a child?
What brings you back to your center?
What are you doing when you feel most YOU?
What do you long for?
What are the shoulds in your life?
What does your life look like in your wildest dreams (no limitations exist)?
What is one small step you can take to get closer to that dream life?
Why do I host retreats?
I was journaling about this the other day since I am hosting two retreats this year and had a human moment of doubt. I needed to take a moment to reconnect to my own why.
As I reflected on the last decade, I remembered that some of the times I’ve felt most alive, most myself, most present, most joyful, most nourished, most rested, most fulfilled, and most centered in my truth and part of a community, were on retreats.
Retreats offer a unique opportunity to reconnect with yourself and provide a much-needed reset and break to decompress from life. They offer a chance to explore a place you might not go alone with a mindful community, all without the hassle of planning.
Retreats offer time to connect to nature, community, and back to yourself. They offer both restorative and joyful movement and time to learn how to weave practical mindfulness into daily life.
So why do I host retreats?
Because I want to share these feelings with others.

I lived on a tropical island in Panama for a year, teaching daily yoga & meditation with an ocean view. I journaled every day, went on adventures, and I was able to rest a lot. When I was there, I felt so alive and I dreamed of hosting a retreat there one day. I wanted to share that feeling with everyone. That day has come:

Immersed in nature, we will replenish and recenter ourselves through yoga, adventure, rest, meditation, journaling, self-reflection, community, joy, well-being, and practical mindfulness.
